There are a number of memories that I have from when I was younger that really bug me because I can't quite place them. One of them was of a store (I think a toy store) in something like a mall, but older and with more character. Anyway, a few of years ago I went with dad to visit some people he works with at a building in the Utica area and it seemed very familiar. It took me a while to realize that this was indeed the same building that I had been to years before when there were stores there. It turns out a long time ago it was a mill or factory that had been converted into stores and now into offices. It was an old brick building with wood floors which must have been what I thought gave it character.
Why am I telling you all this? Well, there's another old memory that I think I've been able to place. For a long time I've remembered seeing a cartoon in which the main character had a drink that was a mixture of peanut butter and root beer (Not that anyone should really trust my recollection. I still have a very vivid memory of driving somewhere with my family and on the way stopping at a McDonald's. As we walked past the side of the building to get to the entrance, instead of having our shadows projected onto the wall, the shadows of McDonald's characters were on the wall. This memory is so real to me, that if it weren't for the absurdity of its contents I would assume it to be real.) Anyway, this particular cartoon was special because it was one Paul watched and I had never really got to watch before. The last time Paul was up, I mentioned it to him and he suggested that it might be The Raccoons:

Now that I see the image, I'm pretty sure that it is the show I remember and I think I can piece together the plot from the show. In the episode I remember there were two raccoons, an older one and a younger one. The older one goes outside to get some of his peanut butter/root beer mixture (for some reason there was a tap outside of his house from which this flowed). Then the younger raccoon decides that he wants to get some, and goes outside to get it. In the mean time, the main villian (a pink aardvark, of course) is watching this. Seeing that a raccoon got some of this mixture and then a younger one came out and got some more, assumes that it is some sort of youth elixir and tries to get some. I think the only way to explain this cartoon is to say, hey it's Canandian, what do you expect?
