So cool…
December 23rd, 2007

This has got to be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen anyone do with a Wii.

His website has information about some of his other projects.

I so need to make a run out to Radio Shack.

There’s a lesson here…

Specifically, don’t name your game ‘Forever’, because that’s how long it will take to develop.

Duke Nukem Forever was announced in April of 1997, it has been in development ever since. Here’s a list of ‘everything’ that has happened since it was first announced. Particularly amusing is the list of Final Fantasy games that have been released in that time.

Also, check out the list of things that took less time to develop, notably: The Wright brothers designed and flew the first airplane.

Well, since I can’t post about that movie…
December 18th, 2007

You can check out the trailer for Prince Caspian at NarniaWeb.

The poster for the new Indiana Jones movie is out.

I’m not sure what to think of The Dark Knight. Batman Begins got some points for style, but the action scenes and the physics were crap. At least they replaced Katie Holmes.

Continuing with the comic book theme, Iron Man looks interesting.

I’ve read that Keira Knightley of Pirates fame (and Episode I, if you were paying close attention) is going to be in the next Jurassic Park movie. It’s sad, I know, but I’m still hoping they’ll make a good sequel.

I’m going to get around to seeing Ratatouille one of these days, but I think WALL E might be more my style.

Coming up a bit sooner is J. J. Abrams’ (co-creator of Lost) latest project, Cloverfield.

On the topic of Lost, the mini-episodes have gotten more interesting.

I’m a bit late to the party, but can somebody explain this freaking starburst commercial to me? I think my head is going to explode.

You can have it
December 6th, 2007

The past three days at school have been kinda crazy. We brought in a professor from Chicago to help us optimize our parallel quantum chromodynamics (QCD) code. He’s the one that wrote the library that we’re basing the code on, so he was able to help alot. Not wanting to waste his time, I put in some late hours. We ended up getting the acceptance rate on the hybrid monte carlo (HMC) QCD simulation up into the high 90’s, which is a good sign, but I’m not sure it’s reproducing the right values, so there’s still work to do. He finally left yesterday, so I decided to not set the alarm for this morning. It gave me a chance to snap a few pics:

Some call it serene, I call it a pain in the ass.

edit: The fuel door on my car froze over, I had to hack at it with the scraper just to get it open.
