As you can see from the white space, I intended to write more but never got around to it. I mentioned that this was a trip unlike anything we had done before, and because of that we weren’t able to plan for it as much as I would have liked. Had we known that we would feel as good as we did after the flight into Auckland we would have done our second day activities then and gone right on Rotorua. Also, if I had known what sort of things I would want to do most, we could have looked into all of it ahead of time. Not that I’m really complaining, we got do to just about everything, but I think that’s because we got lucky on some occasions
Before I left, I said something that I eventually revised as New Zealand was the place I wanted to go most. But I think at least to some degree I meant, and more so now, mean what I originally said. After having been to New Zealand, I don’t really care to travel anywhere else. It’s not that there aren’t interesting things to see elsewhere. It’s that I’ve gotten to see such beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers, and waterfalls that the added benefit of going to another place just doesn’t overcome my lack of desire to travel. I’ve talked to Dad, and he feels pretty much the same way. I’m sure in time my feelings will change, there’s already a bit of desire to see some new parts of the US, specifically Yosemite. But for the foreseeable future, unless work takes me there, I doubt I’ll be going outsite the country.
I’ve begun working on some panoramas from the photos I took. Here’s the first couple attempts.
