Recently I posted about Crayon Physics and World of Goo as some physics based puzzle games that I’ve been playing. After that Richard mentioned Fantastic Contraption [Warning: this link takes you directly to the flash game with music], which is true to it’s name. There’s a version you can buy that has some added stuff, but I’ve had a hard enough time working through the levels in the free version on Kongregate. It’s nice to see more than just tower defense games on there. Also of interest is the recently released full version of Auditorium [Warning: this link takes you directly to the flash game with music]. You can play the free version by following the link.
Outside of that genre, I’ve also become intrigued with the Grow series of games. When I was first introduced to them I thought they were toys, games without a defined purpose, but if you read the instructions you’ll see that’s not the case. They end up being like logic puzzles of sorts. I found the Tower [Warning: this link takes you to the game with music] one to be a good intro because it has 5 buttons, so only about 120 possibilities.
