Pics from the Weekend

Fort building has become very popular, and fort destruction for that matter.

We went to a place called Ringing Rocks Park and yes the rocks did ring when hit with a hammer. I have videos to prove it, but I haven't crunched them yet.

Dominic has definitely taken to two-wheeling.

Luke's tricycle has a small turning radius, which is a good thing.

I made the mistake of trying to teach Caeden to high five, fist bump and honk my nose in the same weekend. Now his motion for all of them is the same. Either that or I had a booger hanging out of my nose all weekend.

The 'penguin game' was very popular, too.

Luke had a bit of trouble with the strategy, but managed to mess mine up on a couple of occasions.

There’s more in the photo album as usual.

Canandaigua
August 31st, 2008

On Friday, Dad and I went down to Bona’s to visit with Aunt Ruth and Uncle Peter. I have to admit that I had another reason for going, since I knew we’d go out to the Beef and Barrel for dinner. On Saturday morning we stopped at Letchworth State Park:

Then we headed up to Canandaigua for the annual get-together:

It seems like the time just sailed by, I didn’t even get a board game in this year.

Ganoga or Waterfalls Outside of New York
June 15th, 2008

As Sophie mentioned, Paul took Dominic and Luke camping this weekend. Since they were going to be in northern Pennsylvania, Dad and I decided to meet up with them on Saturday. We went spent a good part of the day hiking at Ricketts Glen State Park, but not before Paul slammed my hand in the car door. That was a new and interesting experience. After hiking we went to a beach on one of the lakes there and went swimming. I got a few pictures.

Not for a few years, kid.

Ganoga Falls

I see what you’re gonna do.

It’s not the years, it’s the mileage.

As always, there’s more in the album.

The `phews
May 7th, 2008

I was too busy this weekend to spend much time taking pictures, but I did get a few of D, L and C while they were up here:

I may make a gamer out of Dominic, yet. Pretty much any time we were sitting around the TV, he wanted to play Mario Kart. He did a lot better with the Wii Wheel, than he did with the Gamecube controller on the previous Kart. I’d say that’s a pretty good endorsement for the game and the Wii in general.

A Proud Uncle
March 18th, 2008

Over the weekend, Dad and I went down to Paul and Sophie’s for Caeden’s baptism. After the event and subsequent party, we hung out at their house before heading out to a concert that night. While we were hanging out, the kids decided to put on a concert of their own. Now in the past, this usually consisted of them banging, blowing and strumming on various instruments while using a half assembled music stand as a pretend microphone and wearing cowboy boots for good measure. They were doing all that, but accompanying the cacophony were words, words that I knew…

See how the mainsail sets…

…I feel so broke up, I wanna go home

Sloop John B! Dominic and Luke were singing Beach Boys! Paul had mentioned that they had taken to the Beach Boys and specifically liked this song, but their retention of the lyrics was impressive to me. I grew up listening to the Beach Boys (almost exclusively for a time), and I don’t remember ever knowing the lyrics as well as they do (at least phonetically).

Now, all of this is enough to make an uncle proud, but you see, I was the one buying for Paul last Christmas. :)
